tauRank

Rank tracking for Airbnb and Booking.com

See where guests from each country find you.

A guest searching from Germany and a guest searching from Romania, same city, same weekend, see different results. tauRank runs the search the way each of them does, every day, and shows you where your listing lands in each — and the gap between them.

tauRank is an OTA rank tracking software that monitors search result positions for Airbnb and Booking.com listings, for specific dates, guest counts and guest countries.

How it works

Three minutes to set up. Then it runs every day.

No browser extension, nothing to install on your listing, no access to your account.

1

Paste your listing

The Airbnb or Booking.com address a guest books from. We read its page for how many it sleeps and which nights are still open.

2

Choose the stay and the countries

A weekend, a week or a month, the party size, and the countries your guests come from — the searches we run for you.

3

Read it every morning

We search each country every day and keep the history, so you see a trend, not a screenshot. The first reading lands within minutes.

Why the τ

Do guests in different countries see the same winners?

Imagine two friends, one in Germany and one in Romania, searching the same city for the same weekend. Each gets a list. Now pick any two listings from it — say yours and the one next door — and ask: did both friends see them in the same order? Do that for every pair.

τ (tau, a Greek "t") is the score that comes out. If every pair is in the same order, it is 100%: both countries agree on who wins. If it is a coin toss, 0%. If one country's list is the other's upside down, −100%.

We score every pair of your countries every day — and every listing on its own. A listing near 100% holds its place wherever the guest is. One that sits high in Romania and sinks in Germany scores low, and that gap is exactly the ground you can win.

Technically this is Kendall's tau, a standard measure of how much two rankings agree.

DEABCD

4 listings make 6 pairs. 5 are in the same order in both countries, 1 is swapped (B and C).
τ = (5 agree − 1 swapped) / 6 pairs = 67%

In your dashboard, every listing in your comparable set carries its own τ.

What you see

Not three rank numbers. The difference between them.

Everything on your dashboard is read from real searches, from the countries you chose.

Position over a week in Romania, the United Kingdom and Germany, with page bands

Your rank from every country

Page and position for each market, every day, on a chart that keeps the history — the top pages daily, and on Pro and up a full-depth pass that reads every result once a week.

A price strip: your nightly price against the median of comparable listings

Where your price sits

Your nightly price against the listings a guest actually weighs you against: the same number of beds, priced close to you. Not the city average.

Every listing in the search by price and position, with your price band highlighted

Who is cheaper and still ranks higher

Every listing in the search, by price and by position, with the band around your own price marked — so the few competitors that cost less and rank higher stand out from the crowd.

Open-date stays on a calendar, each ranked from three countries

Your open datesPro and up

The nights you have not sold yet, cut into stays and ranked on their own — so you know how findable the weekend you still need to fill really is.

Honest numbers

"Not found" is never a guess.

We say how far we looked
A daily search reads the top pages. If you are not there, we say "beyond the pages we read" — not "not ranked". Only a full-depth search that read every result can say you are not there at all.
A failed search is not an empty one
When a platform does not answer, the day shows as missing. It is never recorded as you having dropped out — a false alarm is worse than a gap.
Prices in your city's currency
Every country's search is read in the currency your listing is priced in, so a price comparison never mixes lei and euros.
One exit per country
Each country is searched from its own dedicated connection, so a difference between countries is the platform's, not the noise of a shared proxy.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is tauRank?

tauRank is a rank tracker for Airbnb and Booking.com listings, built for hosts and property managers.

It shows where your listing appears in search for guests in different countries, every day, and how your nightly price compares with the listings a guest weighs you against: the same number of beds, priced close to you.

How does tauRank track rankings?

It runs the search a guest would run, every day, from each country you choose.

You pick the dates and the number of guests your plan allows, and the countries your guests come from. Each country is searched from its own dedicated connection, and we record the page and position your listing lands on, so you see the history and the gap between countries.

Why is my ranking different from what I see on my phone?

Because a ranking belongs to one particular search, and your phone is probably running a different one.

The country the guest searches from, the dates and the number of guests each change the order. In our first test of one listing, the same search from different countries put it between 28 and 129 places apart. We keep the daily history so you can read a trend rather than a single run.

How is tauRank different from Rankbreeze?

Rankbreeze is a broader Airbnb toolkit; tauRank is a narrower rank tracker that covers Airbnb and Booking.com and searches from several guest countries.

Rankbreeze covers Airbnb only and also offers dynamic pricing and PMS integrations, at $9 per property per month for 1 to 4 properties (as published on its site on 12 October 2026). tauRank does none of those: it tells you where you rank, for which guests, on both platforms. Read the full comparison.

Is there a free trial or a free checker?

There is no free check, but there is a free 14-day demo, and a one-off check of your own listing costs 1 credit.

The demo puts you on a listing we already track, with its history. You can read everything and change nothing, and it needs no card. A check searches your listing once from up to three countries; credit packs start at €3 for 2 credits, excluding VAT, and credits do not expire. Plans start at €9 a month.

Can I track custom dates and guest counts?

Yes, within your plan: Starter tracks a flexible weekend, while Pro and Business also track a week, a month or an exact stay.

Guest counts are limited slots. Starter searches for 2 guests; Pro and Business include two party sizes of your choice, and an extra party size is an add-on at €3 a month. A one-off check lets you pick the dates and the guest count without a plan. See what each plan includes.

How often does it run, and how far down the results does it read?

Every day it reads the top pages of results; on Pro and Business a full-depth search reads every result once a week.

If your listing is not in the pages we read, we say "beyond the pages we read", not "not ranked". Only a full-depth search can say it is not there at all. A search that fails shows as a gap in the history, never as your listing dropping out.

Plans from €9 a month.
