What's new in tauRank

Product updates, newest first. Follow them with the Atom feed or on GitHub.

A blog

  • A blog: how rankings are measured, what the city reports find, and news, also as an Atom feed.
  • Adding a listing now shows a progress bar while its first reading runs, instead of a small spinner.
  • The site footer links our profiles on LinkedIn, GitHub, X, Instagram and Threads.

The dashboard on a phone, a FAQ and two guides

The listing screen now works on a phone, panel by panel, instead of shrinking the desktop layout.

  • Open dates become a list of the stays we searched, with the price per night and your position from each country, and your booked dates in between.
  • Position over time draws one short chart per country.
  • Price against position becomes four counts - cheaper or pricier, ranking above or below you - and names the listings that are cheaper and rank above you.
  • A FAQ on the home page.
  • A guide: Why did my Airbnb ranking drop?, four checks in order before you change your listing.
  • tauRank vs Rankbreeze: where each tool fits.

Steadier daily positions

  • A day's position is now the median of that day's searches, not the average. One unusual search no longer drags the whole day.
  • The listings table shows yesterday's position, so it compares whole days.

Pro looks 60 days ahead

  • Pro now scans your open dates 60 days ahead, the same as Business (it was 30).
  • At your plan's listing limit, Add a listing stays on screen and offers an extra listing, rather than disappearing.

City reports

  • City reports: for each city we search every day, how guests from different countries see its Airbnb and Booking.com listings, where their rankings agree, and what each is shown first.
  • A listing now opens on its open dates when they have been searched, and otherwise on the weekend, week or month you track.

A better listings table

  • Each tracked listing shows its photo.
  • Give a listing your own name, so you can tell your properties apart at a glance.
  • The table shows what each listing tracks and its last position, and you can sort it.

One-time checks, all the way through

  • A check has its own page that you can bookmark and reopen.
  • Searching starts as soon as you submit the form, so the answer is ready sooner.
  • A checked listing opens in the full listing screen: your price against similar listings and the listings a guest compares you with, from one search.
  • Refresh a checked listing for a new reading.

Compare with listings like yours

  • Your rank and your price are compared with listings that have the same number of beds, at any price.
  • The dates panel says which search it is showing and when the next one runs.

A 14-day demo

  • Try a demo: fourteen days on a real listing with real history, seeing what a Business subscriber sees. Sign in by email; no card.

Plans, credits and the new dashboard

  • Starter, Pro and Business plans, monthly or annual, paid by card.
  • Credit packs for one-time checks and add-ons.
  • A new dashboard design.
  • Each city is searched and priced in its own currency.
  • How much guest countries agree on a city's order, measured with Kendall's tau, for each pair of countries and for each listing.
